Museum Tunnelfabrikken

We partnered with Tunnelfabrikken to co-create Museum Tunnelfabrikken, a space that bridges the past, present, and future of this iconic site in Nordhavn, Copenhagen. As one of Denmark’s largest buildings and one of the most ambitious sustainable property development projects, it presented a unique challenge and opportunity.

( A ) Overview

Our role encompassed both the physical concept and visual identity of the museum. Driven by an urgent timeline, our expertise in design sprints was crucial to our selection. We developed a cohesive visual identity, anchored by a bold T-shaped logo inspired by the building’s massive form on a map. The T was creatively transformed into an arrow pointing back to the past and forward to the future, with intersecting arrows forming an X to symbolize the present and the museum’s connection between different time periods. This identity was seamlessly integrated into the museum’s physical space, guiding visitors through meticulously planned spatial layouts and wayfinding systems. With the museum’s unmanned visitor experience in mind, we focused on comprehensive service design to ensure a smooth and intuitive journey. Every aspect was crafted to function autonomously, integrating digital and physical touchpoints. Our contributions included the design of wayfinding systems, video editing, printed materials, and digital experiences such as the museum’s website, ensuring a consistent and engaging visitor experience from start to finish.
